The skin on your neck is thinner and weaker than your facial skin. What sets Titan apart from other lasers? <\/strong>Titan utilizes a safe, infrared spectrum of light (IPL) that is delivered to the dermis well below the outer skin\u2019s surface. There is no down time and no external injury to the skin. A person can return to work right after the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does the Titan work? <\/strong>The Titan laser works by having the laser\u2019s light react with the water that is within the deeper layers of the skin (dermis). The energy released between the light and the water causes the water within the dermis to heat up. The elevation of the skin\u2019s temperature is only to a favorable temperature to cause immediate collagen contraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What areas respond best to the Titan procedure? <\/strong>Patients have been successfully treated on many areas on the body where skin is lax. Loose skin on the abdomen, back of the upper arm, along the jaw line and under the chin, have responded particularly well to the procedure. The face is the most commonly treated area, especially for improving the jaw line and neck laxity. There is a limit to how much the Titan will correct. Those exhibiting severely aged skin with photo-damage and extreme wrinkling would not be considered candidates for the Titan laser procedure<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who can be treated? <\/strong>Since Titan procedure heats tissue under the skin\u2019s surface, most patients of any skin type can be treated. Men and women ranging between 30 and 60 years of age have been successfully treated. Age is not the most important factor to determine who can be treated with Titan. Realistic expectations are important to maintain. People with mild to moderate loose skin and subtle jowls and neck laxity respond the best to the Titan \u201csubtle lift.\u201d Patients with extreme laxity or more demanding expectations are still better served by traditional means of plastic surgery and face-lifting. Patients who have a great deal of fatty tissue cannot expect to have the skin tightened in the neck or back of the arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens after treatment with the Titan procedure? <\/strong>Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will the results with the Titan procedure be noticeable? <\/strong>Some patients with minimal degrees of laxity in the face and neck will see results immediately, mainly due to the initial inflammatory response of the treated skin. For most patients with skin laxity, the results are gradual. Patients can expect to see improvements over a three to six month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do treatments feel like with the Titan procedure? <\/strong>The Titan procedure is uncomfortable and it is recommended that a person take Motrin prior to the procedure. With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation. The Titan\u2019s laser light is adjustable, and during the first few pulses of light, the laser is adjusted to an energy level that is well tolerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Has the Titan procedure been tested and approved? <\/strong>The Titan has been carefully studied in clinics around the world.
